SKATEPARK

Size and Layout: The park is spacious, with a well-thought-out layout that allows skaters to navigate through different sections seamlessly. It includes both beginner-friendly areas and more advanced features for experienced skaters.

While the bones of Sonsk8 are similar to the years it was there, when we took over 2 years ago, our first priority was removing the slippery paint on the floor, grinding it back and removing the slip, followed by relocating the foam pit as it was limiting flow of the park .

We wanted to try and use the long and skinny limited space we have on multiple users being able to ride at the same time.

We then put together a funding application to re furbish the halfpipe. This was a massive job with the previous people glueing down each ply sheet. This took hours to hack away at and remove, we also shortened up the halfipe and cut out 3 metres of flat bottom- Remember how long it was in the middle- this was finished off with 2x layers of 9mm ply and then layeres it with Skatelite and Gator Skins.

All of our obstacles have been built “modular”. This gives us the flexibility of being able to move it around for sport specific competitions etc. These may move time to time.

We have also custom built several kickers ramps, and rails, as wellas ride on obstacles for beginner riders to begin their journey of learning to grind.
